Product introduction:
Sodium Isobutyl Xanthate (SIBX), CAS number 25306-75-6, molecular formula C ₅ H ₉ NaOS ₂. Industrial products usually have a light yellow to yellow powder appearance, with a pungent odor, easily soluble in water, and will gradually decompose under sunlight exposure or moisture conditions. Its chemical properties are similar to n-butyl xanthate, but its stability is slightly better. Sodium isobutyl xanthate can form insoluble salts with heavy metal ions such as copper, lead, and zinc, which is the chemical basis for its use as a collector.
Product uses:
Core application: flotation collector for non-ferrous metal sulfide ores.
Sodium Isobutyl Xanthate is a type of flotation reagent with strong collection ability and moderate selectivity. It is mainly used for flotation operations of sulfide ores such as copper, lead, zinc, and nickel, and has shown significant effects in flotation of various copper and pyrite ores. It is often used in natural circuit flotation processes. The mechanism of action is that the xanthan acid groups in the drug molecules can bind with the metal ions on the surface of sulfide minerals, making the mineral surface hydrophobic and attaching to bubbles to float up, achieving effective separation of the target mineral and gangue.
Product advantage:
1. Strong collection ability and moderate selectivity
Sodium Isobutyl Xanthate has a strong ability to capture sulfide minerals among yellow medicine agents, and has good selectivity for gangue minerals, which helps to control concentrate grade while ensuring recovery rate.
2. Strong targeting for copper ore flotation
In various copper ore flotation scenarios, this reagent exhibits outstanding adaptability, especially suitable for capturing common copper minerals such as chalcopyrite, and can achieve good flotation indicators with low dosage.
3. Better stability than Sodium Butyl Xanthate
Compared to Sodium Butyl Xanthate with the same carbon chain, sodium isobutyl xanthate has a slower decomposition rate during storage and use, and its shelf life can usually reach one year, which is beneficial for inventory management and stable dosing of the drug.
4. Wide applicability
In addition to conventional copper sulfide ores, this product can also be used for flotation of partially oxidized copper and lead ores, as well as mixed flotation processes of complex polymetallic sulfide ores, with a wide range of scene adaptability.
Packaging and Storage : The product is usually packaged in iron drums (170 kg) and wooden boxes (850 kg). When storing, attention should be paid to moisture prevention, waterproofing, and sun protection, and a cool and dry environment should be maintained. The shelf life is generally 12 months.
